Sir Christopher MacRae's course on Foreign Policy Formulation and Diplomacy welcomed two guest speakers in May:

• Rob Young, former British High Commissioner to India, Ambassador to Syria, who spoke on crisis management and the impact of terrorism on diplomacy.

• John Beck, former European Union trade negotiator, who addressed AGSIRD students on negotiation.

The latter session was followed by a visit to the Quai d'Orsay where AGSIRD students were able to see the H么tel du Ministre des Affaires Etrang猫res, which is the "grand" part of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs where dignitaries from around the world are received.
