According to聽the U.N. report ""(2006) the meat producing industry is responsible for 18% of global greenhouse gas emission worldwide. Dr. Anand brought her expertise on environmental issues and policies to discuss this problem. |

On the occasion of the Copenhagen summit, the international TV network France 24 invited Dr. Ruchi Anand on December 28 to聽participate in a debate about how the meat industry affects the environment through its impact on climate change.
The knowledge I acquired at AGS as well as my inter-personal and diplomatic skills, developed during my AGS days, come in handy today when dealing with different government officials, staff from various UN agencies, and even my colleagues in UNESCO who come from different cultural backgrounds.
