Professor Pike to Participate in Contemporary History Conference in Lisbon |

On October 30th- November 1st, Professor Pike will take part in an international conference on the theme of "Foreign Intervention in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939)", hosted in Lisbon, Portugal by the Instituto de Hist贸ria Contempor芒nea (Contemporary History Institute). He will be keynote speaker for France on October 31, with a presentation on the topic: "France: the Limits of Intervention and the Agony of Non-intervention".

Professor David Wingeate Pike (Contemporary History and Politics) has just sent to press a work on the Channel Islands under Nazi occupation, which he wrote in collaboration with his former student Anne Farache, whose father was sent to Aurigny as a slave laborer and was one of the few to survive. This work will appear in three parts in the Paris quarterly Guerres Mondiales and will be published later in book form.
